Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 2026
QVIS, a funding initiative made possible by the John & Daria Barry Foundation, is committed to making qvis.com accessible to as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We want everyone to be able to read about our work and reach us, regardless of how they browse the web.
Our conformance goal
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, and cognitive differences.
What we have done
In building this site we have taken specific measures to support accessibility, including:
- Semantic, structured HTML with clear headings and page landmarks, so screen readers can navigate the content.
- A “Skip to main content” link and full keyboard operability — every interactive element can be reached and used without a mouse.
- A clearly visible keyboard focus indicator on links, buttons, and form fields.
- Text and interface colors chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios, with links in body text underlined rather than distinguished by color alone.
- Descriptive alternative text on meaningful images, and decorative graphics hidden from assistive technology.
- Labeled, keyboard-accessible forms with clear error messages announced to assistive technology.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” setting in your operating system, which turns off non-essential animation and smooth scrolling.
- A responsive layout that reflows for small screens and supports browser zoom and enlarged text.
Using your browser and device tools
Modern browsers and operating systems include built-in accessibility features that work well with this site — including page zoom, text enlargement, high-contrast and dark modes, screen readers (such as VoiceOver, Narrator, and TalkBack), and voice control. If you rely on these tools, we have built the site to work alongside them.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. This site loads typefaces from a third-party provider (Google Fonts) that we do not control. We are working to identify and resolve any remaining issues, and we treat accessibility as an ongoing commitment rather than a one-time task.
Tell us about a barrier
If you encounter any difficulty using this website, or you need information from it in a different format, we want to hear from you. Please email info@qvis.com and describe the problem, the page involved, and how we can best follow up. We will make reasonable efforts to respond promptly and to provide the information or assistance you need.
